How have you experienced this in your career?
Leadership is about GROWTH. Are you growing in your origization or are you being managed? Management feels like a slow death and can also feel like you are being suffocated. It can create high stress and distrust. This points to disengagement, lower productivity and a development of lower self worth.
If you are feeling stuck in your organization it may be time to take an inventory and assess your leaders in your organization and their level of commitment to personal/professional growth. The LAW of the LID states you can never out grow your leader. So if your leader is only investing in themselves at a 5 (on a scale of 1-10) you as an employee will never be able to grow past your leader. It may be time to look for a new opportunity to grow.
It may be time to move to where you have a capacity to grow.
